Orchard Farm High School is seeking a highly motivated, student-centered certified Family and Consumer Science teacher to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year! Our mission is empowering students with the skills and integrity to succeed in an ever-changing global community. Teachers are responsible for providing instruction and support to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning.
Additional Position Information:
- This position will be re-launching the Family Consumer Science curricular content (Culinary Arts and Childcare and Development)
- This position will also include an extra duty stipend for being the sponsor of the FCCLA Technical Student Organization
- Courses include Culinary Arts and Child Development
- Work with the High School Principal to design a Career Ready Pathway and to identify students who would be qualified for Registered Youth Apprenticeships through the USDOL
- An understanding of IRCs, TSAs, and Stackable Credentials is preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or higher
- Appropriate valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
- Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations and law
- Knowledge of subject matter content and assessment strategies
- Knowledge of best practices in curriculum and instruction
- Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in a positive manner
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
- Ability to follow written and oral communication
- Ability to problem solve
An individual who holds this position is required to:
- Provide instruction to students
- Create and implement a classroom disciplinary plan
- Create lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction
- Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees
- Participate in professional development activities
- Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades and discipline
- Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns
- Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
- Implement special educational plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs and individual health plans
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy
- Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher
- Subject area teachers may have additional duties and responsibilities

Current Salary Schedule - Salary will based on years of experience teaching and degree per OFSD policy and procedure. 2025-2026 salary schedules will be updated and applied upon Board of Education approval.
