Orchard Farm School District is seeking an HR/Benefits Generalist to join our team. The HR/Benefits Generalist will perform a variety of functions to maintain the various benefit plans and services for active employees, their eligible dependents, and retirees. The HR/Benefits Generalist will also assist the Director with various human resource operations and providing general administrative personnel support to employees of the district.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited college/university; and three (3) years of related professional field/office experience
High level of competence in interpersonal communication, computer orientation, and clerical skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
An individual who holds this position is responsible for:
- Demonstrates initiative and independent judgement in establishing professional office routines.
- Assumes responsibility for a wide variety of clerical and management tasks associated with human resources and benefits along with generalized central office operations.
- Maintain employee insurance programs (e.g. medical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental) for purpose of ensuring open enrollment, billing and claims, COBRA conversions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process FMLA requests for employees including collections of all required documents, requesting medical certifications as needed, calculating and accounting for leave use in substitute management system and maintaining FMLA tracking system.
- Maintain the Worker’s Compensation program for the purpose of ensuring all work related injuries are properly reported, employees receive necessary safety information, medical treatment, and are returned to full work duties as quickly as possible.
- Maintain confidential records and information related to employees.
- Assist with collection and maintenance of records.
- Maintain online job descriptions upon Board approval.
- Assist Director with recruitment of all certified, classified, and substitute job openings, including postings to social media, active vendor sites, etc.
- Maintain the hiring, certification and record keeping for all substitute teachers and substitute management system.
- Serve as a resource person for staff regarding inquires.
- Assist with new certified staff orientations.
- Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations such as EEOC, FERPA, FMLA, FLSA, HIPPA, and other state and federal regulations associated with personnel.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices
- Assist with ad-hoc HR projects
- Attend/Complete District PD and training.
- Perform other duties assigned by Director or Superintendent.
Skills and Abilities
An individual who holds this position must have the ability to:
- Read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, employees, and the general public.
- Effectively present information to administrators.
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, probability and statistical inference.
- Apply financial concepts such as compound interest, time value of money, tax rates, and discounts.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- This position requires moderate level skills in the use of computers.

Salary: $24 - $28.85 per hour
