Be a SCHOOL BUS MONITOR for Orchard Farm School District

  • Orchard Farm School District provides health, dental, vision and life insurance for employees paid by district. 
  • Training and competitive salary starting up to $17.60/hour.
  • Approximately 6 hours per day, split shift assignments (morning and afternoon, with more opportunities available for mid day)

Essential job duties including but not limited to:

  • Assists the bus driver with the safety, movement, management and care of the children boarding the school bus, leaving the bus or being transported.
  • Seats self in area on the bus to ensure observation of all passengers at all times and make sure they are following school bus safety rules.
  • Assists the school bus driver in reporting infractions of school bus safety
  • Is aware of problems between students and keeping those students separated by assigning seats.
  • When working on a school bus equipped with a wheelchair lift, operates the lift for loading and unloading of wheelchairs and also ensures that the wheelchair is properly secured for transportation.
  • Is responsible for securing students who ride in child restraint seats, etc.
  • Attends school bus safety meetings
  • Assists bus driver with pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintains a high standard of student conduct at all times.
  • Assists driver in keeping the bus clean and inspects for damages and repairs on a daily basis
  • Ensures the at child takes his/her belongs with him/her when departing the bus.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Understand written and verbal instructions
  • Able to read and interpret maps
  • Able to write reports for pre and post trip inspections and student discipline

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent

 

**Must participate in all pre-employment screening including criminal background fingerprinting
