Orchard Farm School District in collaboration with Lindenwood University is hiring Intern Teachers for the Spring Semester 2024-2025 school year.
- Must be a Lindenwood University student enrolled in the LindenTeach program.
- Must have an approved application through Lindenwood University.
Orchard Farm School District is looking forward to working with great candidates from Lindenwood University to teach our students, alongside our faculty. An Intern Teacher will acquire practical experience while teaching students at Orchard Farm High School, Orchard Farm Junior High School, Orchard Farm Middle School, Orchard Farm Elementary, Discovery Elementary or Early Learning Center in the capacity of a substitute teacher who performs regular teaching duties while a teacher is absent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities An individual who holds this position is responsible for:
- Assumes the responsibilities for instruction classes when a teacher is absent
- Assumes all other responsibilities for that teacher during the time the teacher is absent.
- Prepared lesson plans with assistance, as directed by an administrator when lesson plans are not available in the classroom.
- Maintains appropriate records including checking test papers, recording grades, student assignments for homework, projects and the necessary clerical work required for maintaining student records for a teacher who is absent.
- Provides assistance for students who need special help on those days when no teacher is absent.
- Provides for individualized and small group assistance for students as indicates by lesson plans.
- Shares responsibility for supervision of students in all areas of the school through activities such as monitoring student activity between classes.
- Performs additional tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal
Qualifications
- 60 college credit hours
- Valid Missouri substitute teaching certificate
- LindenTeach application approval
Internship
- Intern Teacher will be paid at the rate of $120/day, day 11 increase to $130/day
- Intern Teachers will work approximately 15 hours per week in the capacity of 2-3 days depending on interns' college schedules.
- Intern Teachers are paid on a bi-weekly schedule.
- Intern Teachers are expected to work the assigned schedule as determined by the district.
- Intern Teachers will be expected to follow all policies of the Orchard Farm Board of Education.
- Intern Teachers will work with both the district and the university and follow all regulations of the Internship.
An application must be submitted through OFSD Hire Site and have all necessary application materials including but not limited to resume, cover letter, unofficial transcripts and substitute certificate (unless awaiting DESE approval).
